Bach Vespers for Holy Week
Sunday, April 10, 2022, 7:00pm - 8:00pm
The community gathers in the church and on Zoom for this Vespers service. Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri – the Limbs of our Jesus – is the featured music. The composition is a 15th-century cycle of seven cantatas, each one reflecting on a different part of Christ’s crucified body: feet, knees, hands, sides, breast, heart, and face. Beautiful choral music, prayers and readings are woven together to create this liturgy that invites us more deeply into the experience of Holy Week.
For the safety of all who attend services at the church, we will be following the guidelines provided by the Diocese of Toronto. Please wear a mask and follow public health guidelines.
