When the Lost are Found: The Beatitudes and Radical Hope

Saturday, March 17, 2018, 9:30am - 3:30pm

Blessed are the . . . what? Jesus surely didn’t mean that those people were the ones who were blessed. Can we imagine what it looks like when the lost are at the heart of the kingdom?

Join us for a day long workshop on the Beatitudes . Discussion will be led by Dr. Sylvia Keesmaat. Participants are asked to bring a NRSV Bible.

A light lunch will be provided.

Dr. Keesmaat is an Adjunct Professor of Biblical Studies at Wycliffe and Trinity Colleges, as well as the Biblical Scholar in Residence at St James, Fenelon Falls. Along with her husband, Brian Walsh, Sylvia is the author of Colossians Remixed: Subverting the Empire and Romans Disarmed(forthcoming). Sylvia speaks frequently on issues of biblical discipleship and justice. She and Brian live on an organic solar-powered farm in Cameron with a fluctuating number of animals and people.
