DESCRIPTION:Please join us on the four Mondays of Advent. We’ll reflect together on passages from the writings of Julian of Norwich\, the medieval English mystic who was the first woman to author a book in English – an account of her visions during a near-death experience in May 1373. Julian writes of a God in whom there is no wrath. Who is both Mother and Father. And who\, in spite of all that is broken in the world\, will somehow make all things well – a message that is urgently relevant in our own deeply troubled present day. \n\nWe’ll meet at 7 PM downstairs in the boardroom. Our session facilitators will be Susan Graham Walker\, Sharon Kirby\, Susan Haig\, and Paul Pynkoski. Please register so we can have some idea of how many people to expect.

DESCRIPTION:Sometimes the Christmas Season is difficult. Sometimes attending a Christmas service is hard. The season may not be cheery and bright because of loss\, distance\, or stress. The joyous sounds of big crowds and equally big music may be too joyous and big. The Quiet Christmas service on Sunday\, December 21 at 4 PM offers time and space to step apart from the sounds of the world around us into candlelight\, stillness\, song\, and prayer. Come\, there is a place for you. \nWhile in the church building\, wearing a mask is welcomed and encouraged. \nThings you will need for the service: The bulletin will be posted before the start of the service. \nThe service will also be available through YouTube. DESCRIPTION:Sunday Explorations is our occasional series of discussions on selected topics\, Scriptural reflection\, book talks\, and more on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM in the Board Room downstairs (with coffee on offer). The sessions are a wonderful chance to get to know one another better and to share questions\, concerns\, and insights about our faith and how we live it. \n\nSunday\, December 8 – Walking in Trust and Expectation\n\nAdvent is the season of trust that Something’s Coming beyond what we can ask or imagine. How do we move forward toward it in faith\, when all we can see are the next few steps in front of us\, in a dark time? How do we maintain trust that the path before us will lead us where we are meant to go?\n\nWalking a labyrinth is an ancient spiritual technology that can teach us these lessons through direct experience. It’s a way to focus attention\, and at the same time trust that it’s ok when our minds wander. This morning we’ll talk about mindful walking\, as preparation for walking a labyrinth together next to Holy Trinity Church this coming Wednesday\, December 11.
