SUMMARY:Mural Dedication
DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Sunday\, June 7 at noon for the dedication of Roots of Hope\, a new mural by Donald Chretien\, an Ojibwe artist from Nipissing First Nation. The Most Reverend Chris Harper\, National Indigenous Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Canada\, will lead the blessing of this remarkable work of art after the 10:30 AM service. \nStretching along the west side of the church and welcoming passers-by on Avenue Road\, Roots of Hope weaves together the deep roots of Indigenous history with the life of the church today. \nThis breathtaking addition to the streetscape at Bloor Street and Avenue Road reflects our commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and to restoring right relations with First Nations\, Inuit\, and Métis peoples. \nThe mural stands as a lasting testament to Redeemer’s ongoing journey of reconciliation. Along the way\, many within the Redeemer community and beyond have offered their wisdom\, time\, creativity\, and resources to help bring this vision to life. \nCome and enjoy First Nations drumming\, singing\, and the wisdom of elders. \nRefreshments will be served. Please register to rsvp by June 2 so that we can plan accordingly \n\n  \n
