Thinking About Being in Christ
Ann Jervis will lead our reflections.
We regularly hear the phrase ‘in Christ’ in our services. How do we understand this phrase? Is it a metaphor for trusting Christ and for a communally shared purpose? Or is it more than that? The scriptural source of the phrase is primarily Paul and the Gospel of John. Are these writers referring to something more than a metaphor? Do they think that Christians actually live in another being – in Christ? If we choose to consider this thought, how might it change our understanding of ourselves as Christians?
