Our informal drop-in conversations and presentations continue. Come downstairs to the Board Room for 45 minutes of discussion and presentations from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM on topics listed here week by week. There’s no advance preparation, and no commitment from one session to the next. But there is coffee, along with an opportunity to get to know others better in an environment of open mutual sharing.
Lectio Divina – Psalm 1 and 1 Thessalonians 2
To believe in anything of consequence, whether political or theological, entrusts us to a message that, horror of horrors, we must share. But how? Even the best message in the world can be delivered badly, so badly that we’re tempted to share little else but updates on the weather. Looking at Psalm 1 and 1 Thessalonians 2, we will be exploring what attitudes the writers of the biblical text assumed to avoid undermining the good news they had to share.
Which begs the question: ‘Are we doomed to share nothing but the weather?’
