At Church of the Redeemer, we seek to live out our baptismal covenant, where we say that we will strive to respect the dignity of every human being. Part of that call includes being a long-time advocate and ally for the 2SLGBTQI+ community. Listed below are some of the ways that gets lived out throughout the year and in particular during Pride Month with current information for 2026
Rainbow Stripes on the Steps
Every June, the front steps of the church have rainbow stripes added as part of our public witness that our parish is a safe place for 2SLGBTQI+ siblings to find a community and a place to call home. We continue to look for ways to make that proclamation visible year-round.
Trans Ministry
The Rev’d M. Rodrigues (they/them), Honorary Assistant at the Redeemer, leads the Trans Ministry at Church of the Redeemer. Every year at the end of November, we hold a Trans Day of Remembrance service. Get in touch with Margaret to share your needs, wishes and great ideas for shaping a trans ministry that fits. Download this Trans Resource booklet, which lists supports, programs and welcoming places of worship.
Pride 2026

Sharing our Story: Witnesses Project
Throughout Pride Month, a call for stories, poems and artwork on faith, hope and love was extended! This project was a way to give witness to the life and stories of the community and to also inspire the younger generation of 2SLGBTQI+ and Allies who need to hear from many voices of support as we celebrate Diversity and Love. We continue to explore how to continue this project and capture more of the stories of our community. Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks.
Because Love is love is love!
Pride Sunday
On the last Sunday of Pride Month, our worship services reflects our celebration of the 2SLGBTQI+ members of our community who are beloved of God. The 2026 service is available through YouTube.
Trans March and Pride Parade
We Walk!
Each year, members of the Redeemer community join Proud Anglicans for the Trans March and the Pride Parade as a sign that the church can be a safe and welcoming place.
