I Wonder As I Wander: Pilgrimage Walks for Advent
Thursday, December 10, 5:30pm - 6:15pm
Learning@Redeemer invites all to share the journey of Advent in a series of weekly meditative walks. We’ll gather for each in the open space on the east side of the church after dusk, at 5:30 PM. We’ll walk together, carrying candles, for about thirty minutes, returning to Redeemer for a final prayer.
The themes of the walks will follow the themes of the four candles of the Advent wreath: hope, peace, joy, and love, respectively. A leader will offer a focus for shared meditation, based on the text of an Advent hymn.
The theme for this week’s walk is: Joy
On Wednesday, December 23, our Incumbent, The Rev’d Canon Steven Mackison, will lead the fifth walk: the Christ Candle through Queen’s Park. The assembly point for the Christ Candle walk will be the paved area at the centre of Queen’s Park.
Respecting this time of COVID-19 and the need for physical distancing, we will take care of each other by wearing our masks and keeping two meters apart from one another. For COVID-19 contact tracing purposes, we need to have contact information for those attending each walk so registration is required. Registration will be posted shortly.
For those unable to join us but who wish to walk alone at a time of their own choice, texts and routes of each walk will be posted here the week before the walk.
