Throughout the month of June, the Church of the Redeemer will mark Pride Month.
Rainbow Stripes on the Steps
The front steps of the church have had rainbow stripes added as part of our public witness that our parish is a safe place for 2SLGBTQI+ siblings to find a community and a place to call home.
Witnesses Project
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Witnesses Project. There is still time to send in your stories, poems and artwork on faith, hope and love! This project is a way to give witness to the life and stories of the community and to also inspire the younger generation of 2SLGBTQI+ and Allies who need to hear from many voices of support as we celebrate Diversity and Love.
Because Love is love is love! Your contributions will be presented as part of the offerings during the 10:30 AM Pride service to celebrate Pride and Love. Come for the service at Church of the Redeemer right on the corner of Bloor and Avenue. Your contributions will be available for all to have a look at after the service and will have a place in the heart and history of the community and the Redeemer!
We welcome all contributions to be done on Letter-sized paper or bigger…
Suggested Topics to inspire you:
- What does it mean to celebrate you?
- What is love?
- What has given you strength and hope?
- Stories of faith which speak to you most about love and why.
- Stories of people supporting you – that have inspired and encouraged you in difficult times and in times of celebration and joy.
- Stories you want to share of yourself that will inspire the younger generation to take courage in being themselves.
- How has the journey as an Ally transformed you?
- Remembering a queer family member or friend who has passed and the impact they had on you.
You can email Brianna your contributions or drop them off at the church office on weekdays.
